The Core of Every Closed Cooling Tower

Our Cooling Tower Coils perform the actual heat exchange. Hot fluid flows inside the tubes, while spray water and air pass outside. Heat transfers from the inside to the outside efficiently. The coil is a serpentine shape. We offer three materials: T2 copper for optimal heat transfer, 304 or 316L stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance, and hot-dip galvanized steel as a cost-effective middle option. Tube diameters are 15.88 mm, 19.05 mm, or 25.4 mm, with wall thicknesses from 1.0 to 2.5 mm. Design pressure ranges from 1.6 to 2.5 MPa, with a burst pressure above 4.8 MPa for safety. Heat transfer coefficients range from 550 to 800 W/m²·K, depending on the material.

Optional Fins for Enhanced Cooling

For certain applications, we add aluminum fins to the tubes. These fins increase the external surface area, improving heat transfer. Fin ratios range from 12:1 to 20:1, increasing heat transfer by 20–35%. However, fins also add airflow resistance, requiring more fan power, so they are not always recommended. The coils include a drain valve and air vent, allowing full drainage in approximately 3 minutes to prevent freeze damage in winter and reduce scale buildup inside the tubes.

Long-Term Leak Warranty and Custom Design

We provide leak warranties based on material: copper – 3 years, galvanized steel – 4 years, and stainless steel – 5 years. Coils are designed according to ASME BPVC Section VIII, with optional U stamp certification. Each coil is custom-built according to your specifications, including tube size, number of rows, and inlet/outlet positions. The coil is shipped as a single piece, ready for piping connection. FAQ

 

How can I be sure the coil will not leak?

Each coil undergoes dye penetrant weld inspection, followed by an air test at 3.2 MPa and a hydrostatic test at 4.5 MPa. For stainless steel coils, a 24-hour air hold test is performed. Leak rate is below 0.1% per hour, and a full test report is provided with each coil.
