Our Cooling Tower Fan Stacks surround the fan and serve two purposes: guiding airflow smoothly and reducing noise. Without a stack, air swirls and wastes energy. A properly designed stack increases fan efficiency by 8–12% and reduces motor power consumption by 8–12%, providing immediate energy savings. The stack can be a venturi shape or a straight tube with a bell mouth, with an exit angle of 6–12 degrees, optimized for performance. Materials offered include FRP (lightweight and cost-effective), galvanized steel (strong and durable), and stainless steel (ideal for coastal or food industry applications).
Lightweight FRP for Easy Installation
FRP stacks are approximately one-third the weight of steel, allowing one person to lift a section. Large stacks come in 2–4 sections that bolt together on site, with assembly taking 4 hours or less. FRP is fire-rated UL94 V-1 (V-0 optional for stricter codes) and coated with a gel coat to resist UV damage, eliminating the need for painting. Steel stacks are hot-dip galvanized, with zinc coating ≥ 380 g/m². The stacks also reduce noise: FRP absorbs some sound naturally, and for additional noise control, an inner liner with perforations and sound padding can reduce noise by 5–8 dB(A).
