A Small Part with Four Important Functions
Our Cooling Tower Air Intake Louvers are installed at the air inlet and perform four key functions:
1.Straighten airflow for efficient cooling.
2.Prevent splash water from leaving the tower.
3.Block sunlight to inhibit algae growth inside the tower.
4.Stop leaves and debris from entering.
The louvers have blades set at 30–45 degrees. Water hitting the blades falls back, while air passes through smoothly. Blade spacing is 25–50 mm, with design air speed around 2.5 m/s. Pressure drop is only 15 Pa, so your fan does not work harder.
Materials for Different Environments
We offer four material options:
- PVC – cost-effective, suitable for most sites, UL94 V-0 fire-rated.
- FRP – stronger and resistant to higher temperatures.
- 304 Stainless Steel – ideal for coastal or chemical plants.
- Galvanized Steel – suitable for large industrial sites with budget constraints.
The louvers block >99.99% of splash water (tested at 20 m³/h·m² water load and 2.5 m/s air speed). Water escape is ≤0.0005%, keeping the ground dry. Air is also more uniform: with louvers, air speed across the fill is within 15% of the average.
Easy Retrofit for Existing Towers
Our louvers can be installed on any tower without structural modifications. They hang on hooks or bolt in place. Width can be adjusted on-site with a saw. Optional insect screens (5×5 mm holes) prevent bugs and birds from entering.
