Closed-Circuit Cooling Tower Temperature Controller Parameter Adjustment Method

Mar 04, 2026

Basic Principle

The closed-circuit cooling tower temperature controller is an important device for controlling the temperature of the closed-circuit circulating water. The controller automatically adjusts the flow rate of the circulating water by sensing changes in the ambient temperature, maintaining the water temperature within a certain range to ensure the normal operation of the cooling tower.

Parameter Adjustment Method

Temperature Setpoint Adjustment
The temperature setpoint is a key parameter of the closed-circuit cooling tower temperature controller, determining the temperature range of the circulating water. The method for adjusting the temperature setpoint is as follows:

(1) First, set the temperature setpoint to a relatively high value, such as 30℃.

(2) Observe the temperature controller's display screen. When the displayed temperature rises close to the setpoint of 30℃, gradually lower the setpoint until the temperature controller's display screen stabilizes, then stop adjusting.

(3) Wait for a period of time and observe whether the circulating water temperature is within the set range. If it is not within the range, adjust it again according to the actual situation.

Ambient Temperature Compensation Coefficient Adjustment
The ambient temperature compensation coefficient is another key parameter of the closed-circuit cooling tower temperature controller. It automatically adjusts the circulating water temperature based on changes in the outdoor ambient temperature. The method for adjusting the ambient temperature compensation coefficient is as follows:

(1) Fix the temperature setpoint to a constant value, such as 25℃.

(2) Observe the display screen of the temperature controller. Once the display screen is stable, adjust the ambient temperature compensation coefficient according to the actual changes in ambient temperature until the circulating water temperature stabilizes at around 25℃. Then, stop adjusting.

Regulation of Circulating Water Flow Rate
The circulating water flow rate is another key parameter of the closed-loop cooling tower temperature controller, as it determines the effectiveness of heat transfer. The method for adjusting the circulating water flow rate is as follows:

(1) Fix the temperature setpoint to a constant value, such as 25℃.

(2) Observe the display screen of the circulating water flow meter. When the water flow rate is stable, adjust the flow regulating valve to stabilize the circulating water flow rate within a certain range to ensure the heat transfer effect of the circulating water.
