Components of a Cooling Tower Louver

Mar 18, 2026

A cooling tower louver mainly consists of the following parts:

Frame: The frame is the supporting structure of the louver, usually made of high-quality steel or aluminum alloy, featuring high strength, corrosion resistance, and resistance to deformation. The frame design should consider the opening and closing methods of the louvers, as well as the overall structural stability and aesthetics.

Blades: The blades are the main working part of the louver, usually made of lightweight materials such as aluminum alloy or plastic. The blades are fixed to the frame via a specific connection method and can rotate with the drive of the transmission device, thereby adjusting the air intake. The shape and size of the blades also affect the ventilation and heat dissipation performance of the cooling tower.

Transmission Device: The transmission device is the key component for the automatic opening and closing of the louvers, usually using electric or pneumatic methods. The transmission device can automatically adjust the opening degree of the louvers according to parameters such as ambient temperature and humidity to ensure the optimal operating effect of the cooling tower.
