Plate Heat Exchanger Design Features

Apr 15, 2026

1. High Efficiency and Energy Saving: Its heat transfer coefficient is 3000–4500 kcal/m²·°C·h, which is 3–5 times higher than that of shell-and-tube heat exchangers.

2. Compact Structure: The plates of a plate heat exchanger are closely arranged. Compared with other types of heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers occupy less floor space. For the same area, the heat transfer capacity of a plate heat exchanger is only 1/5 that of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger.

3. Easy to Clean and Disassemble: Plate heat exchangers are clamped together with bolts, making disassembly and assembly convenient. They can be opened for cleaning at any time. Furthermore, the smooth plate surface and high turbulence reduce scaling.

4. Long Service Life: Plate heat exchangers are made of stainless steel or titanium alloy plates, which are resistant to various corrosive media. The gaskets can be easily replaced, and disassembly and maintenance are convenient.

5. High adaptability: Plate heat exchanger plates are independent components, allowing for the addition or removal of flow paths as required, resulting in diverse configurations; suitable for various process requirements.

6. No cross-contamination: Plate heat exchanger sealing grooves are equipped with drainage channels, preventing cross-contamination of different media. Even in the event of leakage, the media always flows outwards.
